For Claims Employees
The University of Farmers for claims employees aims to be the recognized leader in claims training and education. It’s a mission we take very seriously. When new claims representatives are hired at Farmers, they spend their first few weeks learning from supervisors, trainers and more experienced claims representatives. With this basic training under their belt, they then attend the University of Farmers. While completing their two-week course of study at the University, students experience non-stop hands-on training . . . honing their skills at investigating, estimating, and settling claims in their line of business (APD, Liability, Property or Specialty) while learning how to use business tools such as Xactimate, Pathways and Colossus. In addition to seven classrooms, the claims operation at the University features a two-story mock home so that participants can dig into the details of the many different types of situations they’ll be faced with when helping to restore their customers’ homes. The University of Farmers also has a 15,000- square-foot auto bay filled with damaged automobiles of every shape and size, again, giving participants crucial real-world experience. High-potential claims employees are periodically invited to return to the University of Farmers to complete Claims Leadership, Management Leadership and Advanced Leadership programs. Rather than relying on traditional instructor-led classes, University participants learn by working in teams, completing group projects, practicing their skills and developing real-world plans to succeed . . . plans they will put into action as soon as they return home. This innovative approach to learning is a proven winner. Since the University opened its doors at its original campus in March 2004 it has been honored for its groundbreaking methods and training excellence. Awards include five American Society of Training and Development Excellence in Practice citations . . . two Corporate University Best in Class awards for excellence . . . and the 2004 Pike’s Peak Performance Award. Even more important than any outside awards, University graduates overwhelmingly credit the University with boosting their success, enhancing their skills, and setting them on a path toward success. |
