Several mornings a month my Australian Cattle dog "Brandy" (3 1/2 yrs. old) and I volunteer with Hospice of the Valley to visit patients and clients with the Pet Connections program. I rescued Brandy from AAWL (Arizona Animal Welfare League) shelter in August 2008. I have since rescued another Aussie Cattle dog "Jazzy" (5 mo. old) and plan to train her as a therapy dog as well.
I have been very impressed with the caring and loving shown to patients, clients, employees and volunteers within the community of Hospice of the Valley. It is a privilege to work for the Hospice of the Valley.
If you would like a dog or cat companion, please consider going to AAWL at 40th St. & Washington in Phoenix. They take such good care of their rescue animals; spending time to analyze them so that you take home just the right pet for you. Both my dogs have beautiful spirits and like to please people. They tell you there that if you adopt one animal, you actually rescue two. The one you take home vacates a kennel allowing room for the second.
