Dennis Smith's BeliefsI entered the Insurance field in April 1982, after operating a successful family business for a number of years. I rapidly rose through the ranks and eventually found myself managing the company's first Mega Agency for Prudential Insurance. After a successful career of 17 years, I was persuaded to rebuild an Agency for AIG/American General. After winning two Council Awards with AIG, I took over the leadership of the local New England Financial Firm and grew their revenues by 20%. After several years, Farmers captured my attention with a unique opportunity to build a Championship Operation here in Wichita, Kansas. Along the way, I have obtained by Chartered Life Underwriter Designation and Chartered Financial Consultants Designation. Farmers insurance and financial services professionals are a select group of entrepreneurs. Farmers was built by agents for agents. The statements above reflect who I am, what I believe, and what we will begin training on when you elect to begin your career with Farmers While many companies are bypassing their agency force by direct marketing and Web marketing, I know and firmly believe that our district's strength lies in the relationships between our agents and our customers. I do everything I can to empower my agents, helping them build their futures. My mantra is "Be in business for yourself. Not by yourself." For example, my day to day job tasks are training new and veteran agents, support center for underwriting and quoting, communicating messages from Farmers Corporate, providing incentives and contests for my agents, teaching you prudent marketing strategies - such as, utilizing the Farmers Agent Website Program, and most importantly aiding you in setting and achieving realistic goals. I will sit down with you to discuss your needs and goals, just as my agents and registered representatives do when they tailor insurance and financial programs to their customers. If you decide that you have the right stuff to sell Farmers insurance and securities products, I will work with you in obtaining the necessary licenses and then we will go through Farmers products training. After that, the sky's the limit! I am here to support and validate your efforts to secure your customers' futures - while building your own!
