Why Farmers & my Agency

I was meeting with a client who has been with Farmers for some time.  I asked her why does she stay with Farmers?  She put it very well.  She told me that a while ago, there was a windstorm that caused damage to her home and her neighbor's home.  Farmers had this woman's claim paid and completed in less than three days, while her neighbor's home was insured by another large insurance company.  Her neighbor had to wait several days for an adjustor to come out and then had to pay for the repairs out of his own pocket because he was waiting so long for his insurance company to settle/pay his claim.  

She said after hearing her neighbor's experience, she was sold on Farmers for life. She said, "Sure I could save a few dollars by switching, but you get what you pay for and I would never want to save a few dollars and have to pay out of pocket for a claim because a company I am insured with is very slow to settle claims."

This is a true story! How many people think about how a claim will be handled when they look for insurance coverage?  Most are mainly concerned with the cost of coverage.  In my experience, how claims are handled or taken care of is rarely brought up by clients until they need to file a claim.
