Gary Rasmussen, the "Musical Insurance Guy" has been a resident of the Cincinnati area for 24 years. For the past 15 years, Gary has lived in Deerfield Township / Mason with his wife and three children with ages from middle school to college. Gary’s wife is a music teacher and professional musician.
Some of Gary’s current and past volunteer and involvements are as follows:
- Served on board of New-2-You Thrift store; facilitated birth of this business
- Royal Rangers (similar to boy scouts www.royalrangers.ag.org) commander for 13 years
- Served on Deerfield Township parks citizens advisory committee
- Member and volunteer at FCA for 20+ years
- Trustee for neighborhood subdivision for 10 years
- Served as church deacon/trustee for 10 years
- Numerous volunteer involvements such as church technical director for many years (sound, video and lighting) and Sunday School teacher
Gary’s personal interests are varied, from tinkering with antique automatic musical instruments (such as player pianos) to old cars, camping and spending time at his ’private park’ in the woods behind his home. Gary as been a member of AMICA (Automatic Musical Instruments Collectors association www.Amica.org) for decades. He has also been a member of MBSI (Music Box Society International - www.mbsi.org) and COAA (Carousal Organ Association of America-www.coaa.us ). Gary continues to buy, sell and rebuild Player Pianos and other automatic musical instruments, as a hobby, as he has for decades. Gary’s family has enjoyed camping and motor-homing for many years, making multiple trips all directions from Cincinnati to locations such as New England, Florida, Yellowstone, Missouri and Black Hills.
