Joseph Strauss, CLU, District Manager I have been with Farmers Insurance for more than 23 years. My experience includes Agency Management, Claims, Agency Development and Life Sales. I have been District Manager since 2001 and have my CLU designation. I married my wife in 1985 and have two sons, a hockey player and an aspiring Olympic gymnast. It is rewarding to mentor, teach and to develop success in others. On the many promotional trips I host throughout the year, I enjoy celebrating my agents’ accomplishments with them. I was excited to join Joe Strauss’s team in 2001. I have a journalism degree from St. Thomas University in Minnesota, a Master’s from National-Louis University in Illinois and last but certainly not least, three children. I have worked as both a journalist and a teacher before joining Farmers Insurance. Now I have an opportunity to use my background to recruit qualified candidates. I’m a matchmaker. I have worked with most of the major insurance companies, agencies and fraternals in the Chicagoland area and several states. My work has included creating training manuals and programs for personal lines, life and health and home office staff. I have been a certified provider of insurance and CE training since 1989. As a successful small business owner, I look forward to working with new Farmers Agency owners.
