Tornado Outreach Event Hackleburg, Alabama, May 2011
On April 27, 2011 an F5 tornado with winds exceeding 200 mph struck this small community of 1700 people and destroyed everything in its path. 22 lives were lost. The school, downtown district, Wrangler jeans factory, and 190 homes were a total loss. Everything else received significant damage. Every person in this community was negatively impacted.
I, along with a group of others, decided to devote a week out of our schedule to travel to Hackleburg in order to lend a helping hand and make a difference.
