Padres Contra El Cancer is an organization committed to improving the quality of life for Latino children with cancer and those children’s families.
At PADRES, El Sueno de ESPERANZA is that one day, all children will survive cancer.
Their family profile is one of a generally underserved population. More than 70 percent of the families are immigrants and first-generation Americans who suffer limited academic background, demonstrate a limited fluency in English, lack adequate medical insurance and earn less than $25,000 in annual income while on treatment. The patients range between newborn and 21 years of age at diagnosis. Membership is free and once becoming a PADRES member, a family is a member for life.
The event was unbelievable, and I was proud to represent Farmers’ Agency force. I have never had so many people come up and shake my hand and thank FARMERS for the incredible work and sponsorship they give to PADRES.

The master of Ceremonies for the evening was George Lopez (he was hysterical, of course).

Our Firefighters
I’m sure many of you have seen Ricky Hilstein on the Farmers National Ad with me talking about insurance and how important it is to him and his family. Ricky is one of the firefighters battling the Station Fire.
Two of our heroes were lost yesterday afternoon and our hearts go out to their families during this time of grief. This is just one of the fires we are dealing with here in California at this time. Our firefighters put their lives on the line every day to help protect our homes, businesses and loved ones. Please take a moment to remember Ricky and all those brave people who are working so hard to protect us. They are our Heroes.
