Giving back to the community is part of the Farmers brand, the foundation on which our trust and respect securely rests. Farmers supports a range of national, regional and local programs in the communities where we live and work: local sports teams and schools, the March of Dimes and we serve by volunteering our time, talents and continuing the legacy of our founder’s commitment to service.
March of Dimes
Be a Hero for Babies
Now in its 20th year, Farmers? partnership with the March of Dimes begins with the March for Babies events held throughout the country and continues through Farmers’ "Be a Hero for Babies Day" in June. Across the country, Farmers customers, family and friends like you participate as sponsors and volunteer to make sure all babies get a healthy start in life. Your support helps March of Dimes researchers, educators, outreach workers and advocates give all babies a fighting chance against prematurity, birth defects, low birth weight and other threats to their health.
Farmers has an outstanding record of volunteer service, contributing time, energy, talent and financial resources to helping babies. Thank you for being a "Hero for Babies" and supporting the important work of the March of Dimes. Farmers Insurance Group will match you donation dollar for dollar up to $250,000.
Bikers for Babies
It began over 15 years ago...the March of Dimes has partnered with motorcyclists nationwide providing an opportunity for motorcycle clubs, dealerships, vendors and individual riders to join together for babies in communities from coast-to-coast.
Last year, more than 45,000 riders and 250 motorcycle clubs joined together to help prevent premature birth and birth defects. Participating groups included: Riders of Kawasaki (R.O.K), Harley Owners Group (HOG), American Gold Wing Association, ABATE, the Christian Motorcycle Association, the Iron Pigs, the Red and Blue Knights and teams representing corporations like Sprint and UAW-Ford. The March of Dimes wants you, and your motorcycle, on the road for babies who need our helpM.I.L.K.
M.I.L.K.
Farmers cares about the protection of children and the communities in which we live. No one likes to think it could happen to them, but more than 2,000 children are reported missing every single day. If the unfortunate happened and your child were lost, could you provide their height and weight? Would you have an updated photo to provide authorities? The fact is, more than 34% of parents don’t have this vital information readily available and more than 40% don’t have a recent photo of their child to share. Farmers has collaborated with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and Imagery Concepts. Thanks to these collaborations, Farmers Insurance agents have helped parents electronically identify more than 2.5 million children with m.i.l.k. CDs.
The m.i.l.k. program provides parents with identification software that includes a standardized, high-quality digital image of their child with a place to record current detailed characteristics. If the unthinkable occurs, a parent can immediately print "missing" posters and send this important information to law enforcement agencies and the NCMEC-information that can help turn an extended search into a quick recovery.
Dayton Air Show
Farmers Insurance Agents, District Managers and State Office Personnel attended the 2008 Dayton Air Show. We spent the day interacting with members of the community and fingerprinting kids for the Digital ID program from M.I.L.K. The Digital ID program puts parents in contact with the proper authorities if their child is ever lost of missing. This service creates great camaraderie between Farmers agents and the local community. The M.I.L.K. program, along with our Wal-Mart ?back to school? gift card give away, let the community know we offer more than insurance and financial products**, we take care of the people in our community!
