I have been involved with Friends of Discovery Park since 2000 and am the current president. Friends has protected the integrity of the park for over 30 years and supports the Master Plan of 1974 and the Development Plan of 1986. Both plans call for the preservation of a place of "peace and tranquility" and uses of the park that provide "an intimate contact with nature". Over 550 acres of urban wilderness await with forest trails, beaches and magnificent views of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains.
