I graduated in 2000 with honors from A.S.U. with a B.A. in Communication and a minor in Small Business, because I always knew I wanted to be engaged with people and run my own business. After a few years making my mark in corporate America, and managing the Dell Rebate program at Continental Promotion Group, I decided to give outside sales a try with a company called Welcome Wagon. It was during my time there that I built key relationships with several people in the insurance industry through the Scottsdale Chamber. Those connections played an important role in my decision to open an insurance agency. In the fall of 2005, the Toni Allen Agency was born, when I opened up my Farmers Insurance agency in North Scottsdale.
I am currently the President of the Phoenix Rising Chapter of BNI (an international networking group), as well as a current member of the Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce, Get Phoenix and One-community. In addition, I run the local chapter of Colage – Adult Voices, for people with a LGBT parent. Over the past few years, I’ve volunteered at The Beatitudes Center DOAR, helping seniors with computer training and grocery shopping.
I also really enjoy sports. I played on the AZ Lady Hawks Australian Football team in '05 and '06, and was honored with the VIP award at the National Championship in Milwaukee. I’ve won the "Intensity Award" while playing on Team More Cowbell, in the WAKA Kickball League in 2007. Earlier in 2009 I completed the P.F. Chang’s ½ Marathon in January and I helped my new kickball team, the One Kick Wonders, take it all the way to the winning trophy in May. Currently I play on a co-ed flag football team in Scottsdale. Even with all my sports, networking and community involvement I still make time for friends and coordinate a monthly dinner at a new restaurant each month where we try new cuisines from different countries.
For the future, I look forward to maintaining a thriving agency that is known for providing excellent service to its customers, having an outstanding relationship with my mom and other staff, completing a full marathon and possibly winning some ballroom dancing award. Guess I’ll have to find time for those lessons!
