Most offices and schools have safety plans designed specifically for earthquakes. You may want to check with these places, just to make sure.

As you prepare a checklist of earthquake supplies. for your home, don't ignore your work and your car. You may want to keep changes of clothes and basic toiletries in these places as well. Keep emergency water and food in your car. If you're taking prescription medications, keep extras in your car, too.

Although it may seem unpleasant, you need to imagine the possible scenarios (trapped in your home, office, school, car, etc.) and decide what items you'll need to have with you.
